Gentle Giant in the Field

I'm fortunate to see these beautiful creatures anytime I want. They live close by. Their large girth is somehow balanced perfectly by their gentle nature.  Today as I write this in fact we passed by a small gathering. A calf had just been born but somehow was on the wrong side of the barbed wire fence lying almost in the street. The mother was watching over the babe as best as she could not being able to reach her newborn. The baby was bathing itself and seemed not to be distressed. The owners were not home so we went across the way and found relatives who were glad to help get the calf on the right side of the fence. The mother looked at us just as this girl looks at us from the painting.
