The Rainbow Lorikeet is a species  found in Australia, eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.  They have been introduced to Hong Kong, New Zealand and other parts of Australia not normally inhabited by them.

While not endangered they are considered by some farmers in Australia as pests. They fly in large groups and do what comes naturally. Eat.

One thing I notice in pictures of Lorikeets is how they seem to be trying to look into the lens of the camera. I wanted to show that side of them in this painting. An inquisitive character that would peek out from under something to see you. Besides being a bird that just glows in multi color it's a bird that's captured the hearts of many.
